Discover the exquisite Altea Illotto wines crafted across five hectares of vineyards nestled in the Sibiola IGT designation, the smallest geographical indication in Sardinia covering only the towns of Serdiana and Soleminis in Cagliari province.
The vineyards boast a selection of indigenous and traditional grape varieties: Cannonau, Carignano, Monica, Muristellu, Girò, Sardinian Barbera for red grapes, and Nuragus, Nasco, Vermentino, Moscato, and Malvasia Sarda for white grapes. These vines are predominantly cultivated using alberello and Guyot Poussard systems known locally as carriadroxia cun s’appicamantella, on clayey marly white soils in the gentle slopes of Serdiana.
The conscious choice by owners Maurizio (an agronomist) and Adele (an agronomist and winemaker) to embrace environmentally friendly viticulture runs deep: since 1993, the entire estate has been dedicated to organic farming practices.
