Discover Burgos: A Gem of History and Wine Tradition

Located in the heart of the Goceano region, Burgos is a charming village founded in 1337 at the foot of a majestic medieval castle. Situated 600 meters above sea level, this picturesque town with its narrow streets and sloping roof houses encapsulates the medieval spirit of Sardinia.

Burgos is divided into two parts: a modern area and a historical district embraced by rocky cliffs leading up to the castle. Approximately 1000 residents call this place home, preserving ancient traditions such as making sweets for the bonfires of Saint Anthony Abbot in January.

  • The surrounding forests provide breathtaking natural landscapes perfect for hiking enthusiasts.
  • One of the trails leads to the neo-medieval church of San Salvatore, while others unveil ancient archaeological sites like the mysterious domus de Janas of S’Unighedda or the impressive nuraghe Costa with its surrounding village.
