- Known as Is Pratzas in Sardinian, Las Plassas was once part of the territory of Colonia Augusta Uselis during Roman times. The majestic temple dedicated to Jupiter stood here, as evidenced by an inscription displayed at MudA.
- In medieval times, Las Plassas belonged to the curadorìa of Marmilla in the Judicate of Arborea. A castle erected on the land formed part of the southern curtain of the Arborean kingdom.
Las Plassas Throughout the Centuries
- By 1410, the village passed to the Aragonese and later to the Kingdom of Sardinia. In 1477, it became the Barony of Las Plassas under the Besalù family.
- In 1541, it was purchased by Açor Zapata, starting a dynasty that lasted until 1839 with the abolition of the feudal system.
