Located between the provinces of Nuoro and Sassari, Lodè is a charming Italian municipality waiting to be explored. With its 1675 inhabitants and a surface area of 123.45 square kilometers, Lodè boasts a privileged position at the foot of Mount Calvario.

The municipal territory stretches over 120 km2, offering an altimetric excursion ranging from 16 to 1,057 meters above sea level. Characterized by hilly and mountainous landscapes, Lodè stands out for its fertile lands bathed by the Riu Mannu to the south.

  • To the east, Montalbo marks the natural border with Siniscola.
  • To the south, the municipalities of Lula and Onanì are located on the slopes of Mount Montalbo.
  • To the west lies Bitti, while to the north are bordered by Lake Maccheronis Torpè, Padru, and Alà dei Sardi.

This area has been inhabited since ancient times, with prenuragic and nuragic traces testifying to mankind’s millennia-old presence in these lands. In medieval times, Lodè was at the western border of the Gallura jurisdiction and was defended by an armed contingent.

In addition to its rich history, Lodè also boasts an extraordinary natural heritage. Part of the Tepilora Regional Natural Park, Sant’Anna and Rio Posada offer nature lovers ancient forests and breathtaking landscapes.

The population of Lodè has shown demographic variations over the years. In the 2001 census, it counted 2,212 inhabitants living in welcoming family units.
