Usellus, also known as Usèddus in Sardinian, is a captivating Italian municipality located in the province of Oristano. With a population of 753 inhabitants, this picturesque location is situated in the charming geographical area of Alta Marmilla, at the foot of the majestic Monte Arci.
Its roots date back to ancient times, reaching all the way to the Neolithic and Nuragic era, as evidenced by the numerous nuraghes scattered across the territory. In the Middle Ages, Usellus was home to a diocese and belonged to the Judicate of Arborea. After coming under Aragonese rule in 1478, it became part of Incontrada di Parte Montis and the county of Quirra. In 1839, with the abolition of feudalism, it became an autonomously administered municipality.
