Wine: Superbia Gallurese | Vermentino di Gallura DOCG
Cellar: Consorzio San Michele
Discover Superbia Gallurese, an exquisite white Vermentino from Gallura DOCG Superior, crafted solely from Vermentino grapes.
The grapes are sourced from vineyards located in San Michele, Berchidda (Olbia Tempio), in Sardinia, cultivated using the guyot training system. With an average yield of 50 to 60 quintals per hectare, the grapes are deliberately thinned at the right time to ensure optimal cluster ripening. During harvest, a meticulous selection of only the finest grape clusters is carried out.
The harvest takes place manually in late September, with great care taken to pack the grapes into crates for Superbia production, using only top-quality grapes.
Following destemming, the grapes undergo cold maceration for 48/72 hours and then gentle pressing. The resulting must ferments slowly at 11-12°C for approximately 20 days. Aging on lees and regular batonnage for 6/7 months further enhance its character.
This wine displays a straw-yellow color with complex aromas of yellow-fleshed fruit, dates, and Mediterranean scrubland that translate seamlessly onto the palate with pleasant savoriness and freshness.
- Perfectly pairs with raw fish, shellfish, mollusks, seafood pasta dishes, and mains from sea-inspired cuisine.
- Try it with medium-aged cheeses or flavorful yet delicate salami for a delightful experience.
Serve this exceptional wine at a temperature of 10-12°C to fully appreciate its rich flavors and vibrant character.
