Prods Longas: A Fine Cannonau Red Wine from Sardegna DOC

Prods Longas is a remarkable Cannonau red wine from the Sardegna DOC region, crafted solely from Cannonau grapes. This exquisite wine is meticulously produced, with only 3500 bottles created by the renowned Cantina Francesco Cadinu in Mamoiada.

The grapes used in Prods Longas come from vineyards that are approximately 70 years old, cultivated in the traditional alberello system. These vineyards thrive on granitic soil at an altitude of around 600 meters above sea level, boasting an average yield of 35 quintals per hectare.

The grape harvest typically takes place in October, ensuring optimal ripeness and flavor development.

During the winemaking process, Prods Longas undergoes spontaneous fermentation without the addition of selected yeasts. It then matures in chestnut barrels for ten to twelve months before further aging in the bottle.
