Wine: Barriu | I.G.T. – Isola dei Nuraghi.
Cellar: Surrau Società Agricola
Barriu Red Wine: Barriu is a typical Geographical Indication wine from the Isola dei Nuraghi region. It is crafted from a blend of Cannonau, Carignano, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Muristellu grapes. The grape skins are macerated in the must for approximately three weeks.
Tasting Notes: This wine has been aged for twelve months in French oak barrels and then rested in glass bottles for several months to fully develop its character. It has a deep ruby red color, almost garnet-like. You can expect aromas of ripe red fruits and jams, with hints of Mediterranean scrubland. Elegant, soft, and incredibly persistent on the palate with a long finish.
Food Pairing: Barriu is perfect for pairing with hearty roasts, grilled meats, and semi-hard cheeses.
