Wine: Oskos Vendemmia Tardiva | Vermentino di Gallura DOCG – Vendemmia Tardiva
Cellar: Tenuta Lochiri
Oskos Vendemmia Tardiva is a white wine made from 100% Vermentino grapes in the prestigious Gallura DOCG region.
The vineyards where the grapes are grown are situated on granitic soil typical of Gallura, with a density of 4000 vines per hectare and a yield of 1-1.5 kilograms per vine.
Harvesting takes place by hand during the second decade of October, with the grapes carefully placed in small crates and swiftly transported to the winery.
Upon arrival, the grapes undergo a cold maceration at a temperature of 3-4 °C for 18-24 hours. This is followed by destemming, gentle pressing, skin maceration for 4 days, using only free-run juice, and cold static decantation for 24 hours.
The fermentation process occurs at a controlled temperature of 14 °C for 35 days. The wine then matures on fine lees in stainless steel tanks before being bottled horizontally.
Oskos features an international patented TOWER6 cork closure. It displays a straw yellow color with intense aromas of orange blossoms, lemon zest, dried aromatic herbs, lavender, hawthorn flowers, wisteria, thyme, and citrus honey notes on the nose.
On the palate, this wine is refined and elegant with a pronounced yet soft body. Round and honeyed flavors transition into a fresh and vibrant citrusy finish.
- Pair it perfectly with warm vegetable appetizers or creamy cheeses,
