Discover the Essence of Sardinia with Mirto Liquor
- Experience the true taste of Sardinia through Mirto, the island’s most iconic liquor. While Mirto Rosso is made from the berries of the plant, Sardegna’s White Mirto is crafted solely from young Myrtle leaves.
- The production of Mirto, involving the gathering of berries and leaves from wild shrubs, is a longstanding tradition in Sardinia. This ritual typically begins towards late November and extends for about forty days.
- After being collected in sacks, the berries and leaves are transported to Alghero for meticulous sorting and washing at Zedda Piras facilities. They are then left to macerate in an alcohol-water solution for nearly three months. The spirit is later diluted with more water and sugar, without any artificial colors or additives.
- The connection to its native land is not only reflected in the use of genuine ingredients but also in its packaging. The proud Sardinian emblem of the four Moors prominently adorns each bottle.
- To savor it at its best, serve Mirto Zedda Piras ice-cold as a digestif after your meal.
