Located in the Barigadu region, in the center of the island, Ardauli is a captivating Italian municipality with a population of 867 inhabitants. Its name may derive from the Illyrian Ar-daute, which means “by the river”. In the Middle Ages, it was part of the Judicate of Arborea and later came under Aragonese rule. During the Savoy period, it became part of the marquisate of Neoneli until the abolition of feudalism in 1839.
