In Roman times, Osini was a vital center, while during the Middle Ages it belonged to the Judicate of Torres and Coraso’s curatorship. The village was protected by an imposing castle erected by the Judges of Torres.
Throughout centuries, Osini experienced different rulerships until it became part of the County of Quirra under King Peter IV “the Ceremonious” of Aragon in 1363.
Remaining a county town until 1603 when it became part of Centelles’ marquisate. In 1839, feudalism was abolished by Savoy, freeing Osini from the rule of Osorio de la Cueva.
Today, Osini is divided between the New and Old town: the latter was destroyed by a flood in November 1951. Despite this tragedy, remnants such as the church dedicated to Saint Susanna and some restored houses still stand today.
