Simaxis, known as Simàghis in Sardinian, is a captivating Italian municipality located in the province of Oristano, in Sardinia. With a population of 2,199 inhabitants, it is part of the Union of Municipalities of the Lower Valley of the Tirso and Grighine.

The history of Simaxis dates back to the Nuragic era, with archaeological evidence that includes an ancient Nuraghe. During the Middle Ages, it was part of the Judicate of Arborea and the curatorship of Simaxis, serving as its capital. Subsequently, after various dominations, it was freed from the feudal system in 1839.
