It was only in 1839 that Sorradile finally freed itself from feudal oppression by ransoming Pes, its last feudal lords. Since then, it has thrived as a cultural and natural oasis waiting to be discovered.
The variety of Sardinian spoken in Sorradile is reflected in Central Logudorese or Common dialect, enriching its linguistic and cultural identity. In addition to its wonderful village, the municipality also includes the administrative island of Brai, a true natural treasure covering an area of 16.58 km².
