The Pozzati siblings are fueled by a profound family legacy in vineyard cultivation that traces its roots back to their grandfather, Angelo. This ancestral heritage commenced when Angelo relocated to Sardinia in the 1930s, continued through his son Marino, and has now been entrusted to his grandson Ermes. Motivated by this storied past, the siblings founded the Rigàtteri vineyard, with a vision to celebrate and optimize their family’s traditions, expertise, and vineyard mysteries throughout the wine production process.
Situated near agricultural grounds marked as Reigatile on land survey maps, the vineyards hold a special significance. In close proximity lies a well that was once utilized by grandfather Angelo and grandmother Ardelia for water supply, both for personal use and for their livestock. Due to difficulties in pronouncing Sardinian words accurately, Reigatile gradually transformed into Rigàtteri in the grandparents’ vocabulary. Their father often drew water from or guided cattle to drink at the “Rigàtteri” well. While he only unraveled its true meaning later in life, the memory of the Rigàtteri well lingers on in his heart.
