Welcome to the Oliena Social Winery, a historical establishment dating back to 1950 when a collective of local vintners came together with a mission to elevate and popularize the renowned Cannonau wine. This unique grape variety, originally hailing from Spain and thriving in the arid climate and sandy soils of Sardinia, is meticulously cultivated in the “alberello” or “espalier” fashion. While it may not result in large yields, this method imparts distinctive qualities to the wine produced.

At the heart of our winemaking tradition lies the prestigious Cannonau DOC, introduced in the Oliena region in 1972 under the name “Nepente di Oliena.” Inspired by a poetic tribute from Gabriele D’Annunzio during his enchanting visit to our vineyards, this wine has captivated connoisseurs with its allure. The Oliena Social Winery seamlessly merges age-old techniques with state-of-the-art innovations such as controlled temperature fermentation, utilizing grapes sourced from over 100 dedicated members.

Our commitment to excellence shines through as approximately 90% of our exquisite wines are carefully bottled and distributed across local, national, and international markets.
