Uncover the charm of Jankara vineyard, a well-kept secret nestled in the heart of Alta Gallura in Sardinia. With an acquisition of 8 hectares of land back in 2006, our vineyard proudly dedicates 4 hectares exclusively to crafting exceptional 100% Vermentino wines since February 2008.

Situated at an elevation of about 300 meters near Lake Liscia, Jankara enjoys a strategic location between the enchanting towns of Sant’Antonio di Gallura and Luras, just a quick 25-minute drive from the famous beaches of Costa Smeralda.

The deep adoration Renato and Angela hold for Sardinia, specifically the Gallura region, inspired them to realize their dream of producing top-notch wines that highlight the splendor and richness of Gallura’s granite mountains and soils. Through unwavering commitment and enthusiasm, they gave birth to “Jankara,” a true testament to their passion for wine and the ancient land of Gallura.

  • Vineyard Location: Our vineyard “Jankara” is tucked away in the northeast corner of Sardinia, specifically within the hills of Alta Gallura. This area is renowned for its breathtaking granite mountains that lend themselves to granitic soil perfect for drainage and imbuing our wines with complex mineral notes.
  • Vena di San Leonardo: In the Gallura region lie various sub-regions, with “Jankara” proudly situated in the esteemed “Vena di San Leonardo.” This territory encompasses hills stretching from Lake Liscia through to the lands surrounding the quaint church of San Leonardo amidst Alta Gallura’s countryside. Our vineyard resides within a distinct “Cru” referred to as “Giannaghe” or “Jannaca” in local dialect, facing off against another historic “Cru” called “Karana.” The fusion of these two Cru (JANnaca-KARAna) gives our estate its unique name.
  • Mesmerizing Micro-climate: Jankara benefits from an exceptional micro-climate influenced by Lake Liscia and Mount Limbara. Positioned between these natural elements at approximately 300 meters above sea level, our vineyard encounters temperature shifts from day to night along with consistent winds. These conditions enable grapes to reach optimal complexity and ripeness levels while fending off diseases and pests, creating an ideal setting for cultivating high-quality grapes!
