Tenuta le Vigne di Giuseppe Cocco
Sinnai
, CA
The estate “Le Vigne” located within the municipality of Sinnai, in an area formed by the ancient floods of Rio Santu Barzolu and situated at the foot of Monte Serpeddì, boasts terrain with high stoniness primarily composed of granite.
The high stoniness, usually considered a limitation for cultivation, in this case, positively influences vine growing through three essential functions:
- Facilitates water drainage, allowing roots to grow regularly without suffocation
- Prevents weed growth, acting as a natural mulch
- Contributes to the even ripening of the grapes, benefiting from both sunlight and heat radiated from the stony substrate
In this natural setting, skillfully blending Sardinian Barbera, Syrah, and Montepulciano grapes harvested at perfect ripeness with a percentage of dried clusters results in the creation of Perd’Antiga wine.
