Discover the essence of Asinara Estate, a true reflection of the Sassu family’s passion for this land. Our vineyard is not just about producing exceptional wines; it’s a commitment to preserving the endangered white donkeys and showcasing the natural beauty of our terroir.
At Asinara Estate, each wine tells a unique story, starting with our flagship Herculis, a Bordeaux blend named after the ancient island of Asinara. Followed by Birbante, a sparkling wine crafted with wisdom and late-harvested grapes. Indolente Rosso, a Cannonau, and Indolente Bianco, our Vermentino, pay homage to the melodic Sardinian donkey names – Su molente.
Embark on a journey through Romangia, where our vines thrive under the Mediterranean sun overlooking the Gulf of Asinara. This region has been cultivating vines since Roman times when they transported their goods to Turris Libisonis’ colony and port. Today, remnants of Santa Filitica’s Roman villa stand as a testament to this rich winemaking history.
Giacomo Tachis once said, “Wine is made by light.” Our 80-hectare estate basks in Sardinia’s sunlight and Mediterranean reflections that infuse our grapes with intense flavors. Coupled with sea breezes and mineral-rich soils, our vineyards produce grapes with distinctive character and identity.
