Wine: Cinquanta Vendemmie | Alghero D.O.C.
Cellar: Santa Maria La Palma
Cinquanta Vendemmie is a red wine with Controlled Designation of Origin obtained from Cagnulari grapes and other red berry vines grown in the Alghero area.
The grapes are harvested exclusively by hand, pressed, and left to macerate in steel fermenters. After approximately four weeks of maceration, the wine is racked and transferred to small tanks, where it rests at a controlled temperature of about 18-20°C for further refinement. Small batches of wine mature in 350-liter barrels and tonneaux for around 12 to 15 months. Final aging in the bottle before distribution.
This ruby red wine has garnet reflections, an intense and persuasive aroma with a distinct spicy bouquet that complements the exquisite notes of cherry and vanilla. On the palate, it is soft, appropriately tannic, and full-bodied. The aftertaste reveals hints of ripe fruit and soft caramel. It pairs well with important Sardinian traditional dishes, roasts in general, as well as medium to long-aged pecorino cheeses. Serve at a temperature of 18-20°C.
