Experience the Excellence of Lillò Isola dei Nuraghi IGT Red Wine
Indulge in the exquisite taste of Lillò Isola dei Nuraghi IGT, a passito red wine crafted from pure Cannonau grapes. These grapes are carefully nurtured in a tiny vineyard spanning less than a hectare in the picturesque location of Pard’e Valenza. Nestled along the ridge of a gentle hill facing south-southwest, this vineyard offers the perfect conditions for producing exceptional wine.
- The grapes for Lillò are harvested at optimal ripeness between the first and second decades of November when the season is just right.
- The initial phase of drying takes place in the vineyard, followed by further drying in low crates under naturally ventilated roofs for approximately 15-20 days post-harvest.
- Fermentation occurs at room temperature around 12°C in stainless steel tanks by December, with skin maceration lasting about 25 days. The “Lillò” then rests for about a year in steel, preserving the fruity characteristics of Cannonau without stripping them through microfiltration practices.
- The resulting double-dried concentration yields an intriguingly fine wine with a perfect balance between alcohol content and structure. With its garnet-red hue, Lillò boasts a harmonious blend of dried fruit, wilted flowers, cherry undertones, and hints of myrtle on the nose.
On the palate, you’ll savor its velvety tannins and subtle freshness that beautifully complement this passito’s delightful essence. Only about a thousand bottles are produced, ensuring each sip is a truly exclusive experience.
