Wine: Mirto di Sardegna | Liquore di Mirto di Sardegna
Cellar: Zedda Piras
Mirto: Discover the essence of Sardinia through its most iconic liqueur. While Mirto Rosso is crafted from the berries of the plant, Sardegna’s Mirto Bianco is exclusively made from young myrtle leaves.
Harvesting the berries and leaves from wild shrubs to create this traditional elixir is a ritual that begins around late November and lasts for about forty days in Sardinia.
Once gathered in sacks, the berries and leaves are taken to Alghero, where they undergo a meticulous selection and washing process at Zedda Piras facilities. They are then left to macerate in an alcohol and water solution for nearly three months. The spirit is later diluted with additional water and sugar, all without any artificial colors or additives.
The connection to its homeland is not only reflected in the use of genuine ingredients but also in its packaging. The Sardinian coat of arms featuring the four Moors proudly adorns each bottle.
To savor it at its best, serve Mirto Zedda Piras ice cold, chilled, as a delightful after-dinner treat.
