Discover Perdixi Wine: A Unique Blend from Isola dei Nuraghi

Perdixi is a red wine with a Protected Geographical Indication, hailing from Isola dei Nuraghi. It is crafted using 75% Bovale and 25% Carignano grapes.

  • The Anfiteatro Vineyard (Bovale) features deep clayey soils, exposed to the south and gentle winds.
  • The Ruina Figu Vineyard (Carignano) consists of calcareous soils with a franco-clayey texture.
  • Both vineyards contribute complexity and structure to the wine, each with its unique nuances.

The two hectares of vineyards are southwest-facing and were planted in 2002, with a planting density of 5600 plants per hectare. The Bovale vines are trained using spur-pruned cordons, while the Carignano vines are grown as bush vines, yielding about 1.5 kg of grapes per plant.

The grape harvest is meticulously done by hand in crates between late September and mid-October, following a double selection process.

After gentle destemming and pressing, Bovale undergoes fermentation and maceration in buried clay amphorae for 35 days. Carignano is vinified separately in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures.

The winemaking process follows natural methods without the use of enzymes or selected yeasts, adhering to the principles of BIODYNAMIC techniques.

Malolactic fermentation and aging take place partly in 10-20 Hl barrels and partly in new Tonneaux for 15-18 months, depending on the vintage. The wine then matures in bottles for approximately three months. To preserve its natural characteristics, Perdixi is not clarified or filtered; any sediments reflect its integrity.

Perdixi delights the senses with aromas of black fruits in alcohol intertwined with hints of licorice, vanilla berries, and elegant balsamic notes. Its acidity is excellent, complemented by a dense tannic structure.

This versatile wine pairs beautifully with red meats, game dishes, and aged cheeses. Serve it at around 18°C in winter or 16°C in summer to fully appreciate its flavors.

Perdixi has an aging potential of 8-10 years, making it a valuable addition to any wine collection.
