Wine: Rosato | Isola dei Nuraghi IGT
Cellar: Tenuta Agricola Olianas
Olianas Rosé: A delightful Rosé wine from the Isola dei Nuraghi IGT, crafted from 80% Cannonau grapes and 20% Vermentino.
The Vermentino grapes hail from the Porruddu vineyard, grown in dark brown soils with a mixture of marly sandstone conglomerates, adding complexity and structure to the wine. On the other hand, the Cannonau grapes come from the Sedda Sa Figu vineyard, thriving in sandy-loam soils that lend elegance and freshness.
Spanning across one and a half hectares, these North/East-facing vineyards were planted in 2005. Trained using spurred cordon system with a planting density of 5600 plants per hectare, yielding about 2 kg of grapes per vine.
Following a meticulous hand-harvesting process into crates, both Cannonau and Vermentino grapes undergo brief skin contact pressing before being transferred to 50 Hl steel tanks. The fermentation takes place at controlled temperatures for approximately one month. Adhering to the BIOINTEGRALE method, natural activation occurs using Vermentino as “pie de cuve,” without any selected yeasts, activators, or enzymes.
Post-fermentation, around 80% of the wine ages “sur lie” in steel for 5 months while the remaining 20% matures in Tonneaux for the same period. Subsequently clarified with bentonite and lightly filtered, a minimal amount of sulfites is added before bottling.
This Rosé leaves a lasting impact on your palate; perfectly balancing the freshness of a white wine with Cannonau’s distinctive structure.
