Discover Macis Wine from Sardinia
Macis is a red wine crafted from pure Muristellu grapes, sourced from the vineyards of Monte Pischina and Ghennargiunei in Mandrolisai.
The vineyards, cultivated with bush-trained vines, thrive on soil rich in pink granite, at an altitude of 500 meters above sea level. With a planting density of 4000 vines per hectare, the yield amounts to 37 quintals per hectare.
The fermentation process takes place at controlled temperatures in stainless steel tanks and conical wooden vats. The wine then matures for 12 months in oak barriques.
The current production of Macis wine stands at 1100 bottles.
Our legacy is our story. Located near Sorgono, at the heart of Sardinia, we tend to two bush-trained vineyards: one at Monte Pischina, replanted by my grandfather in 1948 with the help of my father and uncles when they were still children. The other, inherited maternally, at Ghennargiunei dates back to 1950. These vineyards boast classic Mandrolisai grape varieties grown on pink granite soils in beautiful exposures. This is how grapes transform into wine, evolving over time as it patiently accompanies our lives.
